Match report by Steve Larkin.
Parkwood won back-to-back games for the first time since early February with a good win on a poor pitch and windy conditions.
Parkwood opened the scoring within 5-minutes from a Ciaran corner, which found its way to Jake on the back post for a tap-in and a deserved 1-0 lead. We quickly grabbed our second, after Parkwood won a free-kick about 25-yards from the Punjab goal. Ciaran floated the ball towards the left hand side of the box and found Kurt who buried his header and a quick 2-0 scoreline. Punjab started to get back in the game and after a goal ruled out for off-side, got back in the game when a corner came into the Parkwood 6-yard box, but seemed to be going straight out; Punjab kept the ball in play, hit the post and after some bouncing around, they scored a goal to reduce the deficit.
Half time 2-1 to Parkwood.
The second half was almost all Parkwood, as we were playing downhill on a sloping pitch and created lots of chances to score but couldn't secure the third goal to take the game away from the opponents.
However, a long throw-in from the left hand side from Charlie, found Alex all alone at the back post who smashed the ball into the bottom corner and a 3-1 lead for Parkwood, which was the final score.
Well done Alex for a great finish and MoM performance at centre half and full back.
