Jimmy Mizen lost his life due to a nasty knife attack. He was a local boy who loved his sport.

His legacy lives on and his family are doing some amazing work about bringing knives off the street.

Parkwood know how important this is, so we are having a fun day in aid of his charity FOR JIMMY.

Jimmy Mizen was murdered during an unprovoked attack in his local High Street. After Jimmy’s death, his parents asked, ‘Do we need more and more legislation or do we need to ask ourselves about the kind of society we all want to live in?’

We deliver 3 distinct programmes to young people in schools – Safe Havens; Talks for Change; Young Citizens. We take young people on a journey from feeling disconnected and unsafe in their communities, to an awareness of their ability to bring about change and a desire to work with others to make their community safer. Our intensive work – Safe Havens Programme - takes place within the London Borough of Lewisham.

Talks for Change is a national programme that we are developing to enable us to reach more young people and make a wider impact. The emotive and impactful Talks are delivered by Barry and Margaret Mizen. Our other activities are delivered by highly experienced youth workers and mentors.
