MAY - Positive times

"Good Luck In the Final"
- All at Parkwood Ladies

May is a going to a busy month for the club, with the Men’s first team playing in their cup final at Sevenoaks Town ground on Tuesday night and the junior section making the final preparations for the clubs two day “Festival of Football” tournament and the ladies returning to training next weekend before they set of on their “European Adventure” at the end of the month.

After a long and difficult season, I am glad we all took a break from football, as it has given everyone the chance to recharge our “footballing batteries” and look forward to getting back to playing football again.

With several youth teams having successful seasons and both the men’s 1st team and Vets teams gaining promotion and the ladies playing regional football, along with the several off the field projects that are developing behind the scenes, I believe that exciting times are ahead for the club as a whole.

I have now had the chance to review the “Field of Dreams” project and have discussed and looked in ways to continuing with this project, (which is now made harder as we have take into account the local vandals) , plans and costings have been submitted to the clubs committee. If approved, once we return from Holland, I intend to oversee some projects, which I hope to complete by September.

We are now only a few weeks away from the Brabant Cup and although a lot of preparation work has gone on behind the scenes a year, I am expecting a" last minute run a round moment" when receive final tour details from the tour operator and the tournament rules and itinerary from the tournament organizers in the next couple of weeks.

I will see anyone, who is attending the cup final on Tuesday to support the men, if not I will see returning players on the 12th or 19th May.
