PRESS RELEASE - Parkwood Juniors out in force to reach 50K Goal!

We are affiliated with the London FA and have been recognised as the London FA Club of the Year 2017 and again 2018. We are a football club that has four sections. A junior section that caters for boys and girls of all abilities, ages 6 to 21. We have an adult's men's section, an over 35 vets' section. We are also proud of our ladies' team who play at a high standard. No one at Parkwood gets paid. We are all volunteers. We also run a successful football education scheme and our development centre runs in association with Crystal Palace. We run a successful community programme for local schools. We have also got charitable funds and regularly do fundraising events for charity. We have recently raised over £1000 for Guys and St Thomas's cancer trust. Parkwood strives itself on being a club of high standards and is aiming to grow and develop supporting local children of all abilities for an inclusion in football.

In order to reach this goal, we have made a partnership application with Bexley Park to the Football Foundation for a grant to build a state of the art 3G pitch at Bexley Park that will both enable Parkwood to reach its potential and give the local community a safe place to engage in football activities.

Our part of the bid is that we are required to find some match funding. This can be done by donation, sponsorship or any other means and may be appropriate.

We have set up a JustGiving page. We would be grateful for all the help we can receive.

Gavin Davies, Parkwood Rangers Club Secretary said, "If Parkwood can achieve this 3G, it will be amazing! Our club is run by volunteers who give up their time to train the children. This will mean so much to them. The local community and schools will also benefit from this project as we are all in need of a state-of-the-art facility. A much-needed development". (End).

David West, Parkwood Rangers, Child Welfare Officer said "To have a full size 3G pitch at the club would make a huge difference to the community and Parkwood Rangers. With the bad weather we normally get each season this pitch will prevent all match postponements and cancellations. This pitch will also give an excellent opportunity for the children of all ages to have a safe environment to play football. Parkwood Committee have worked tirelessly to improve the facilities, and this will be a great asset to the whole club that everyone in the community can benefit from". (End)

Roberto Salvati, Parkwood Rangers, Club Chairman said, "As volunteers at Parkwood, we cherish the club dearly and believe that if we can achieve the 3G project, it will be a fantastic achievement. As well as this, it will create many opportunities for the club. It is important that the members of Parkwood have a safe environment to play football and we believe that this project will develop the club to achieve this. It will mean so much to the community at Parkwood." (End)
